A narrative driven first-person horror game following the dying crew of a shipwrecked space freighter.
Who could have known what good ol’ Captain Curly was capable of? Guess he thought his crew dying alongside him was only right. But some men can’t even kill themselves properly. Maimed, limbless and unable to speak, but alive, Curly is now at the mercy of the crew he has doomed to a slow death.
The Pony Express long-haul galactic freighter Tulpar is stranded within an uncharted region of space. Emergency life support systems saved the Captain and crew of four. The ship will run out of power within six months, food rations long before that. Adrift far off their shipment route, they know the chance of rescue nears zero. Opening the cargo hold is strictly prohibited by the company, but the contents could mean a prolonged chance of survival.
In the space freighter industry, there’s a saying:
“Hope to die, or for goodness sake, pray that everyone else did.”

AMAZING GAME!!!! The best game I've played this year!
THIS GAME WAS FREAKIN AMAZING, I don't usually play a whole lot of indie games since they got really boring and repetitive, but THIS GAME is probably one of the most unique and fun story rich games to play this year! when it comes to the indie genre
This game was absolutely amazing and I loved playing it. I really hope that everyone gets a chance to play it and see how great it is!
please release it here too! on steam you sell it under russians publishing company and ukranians (including me) who really love your games cannot buy it cause of our tenets (we are still under fire every day and dont wanna support terrorists in any way). we just want to buy and play your game. please let us pay you directly :(
I kind of understand your point of view but, not every Russian is a terrorist, you know that right?
thats not really whats being said is it though?
i don’t really care what opinion the game publishers have. if i pay them - my money will go to pay taxes in russia. for military affairs too. and i don't want to pay for my possible death you know ahahaha. i just want to play a game without sponsoring a war
The Publisher may not be living in Russia?
I'm from turkiye myself, and there are many refugees here that consistently speak their own language and refuse to learn Turkish
This has to be one of the best games I have played, this is the full version of the game with no commentary, just pure full gameplay footage:
Is there a way to pay you and download this without steam. I want to support you, but also don't have time for Steam's endless updating.
this did hurt.
You should actually release the game here for real instead of just having this page link to Steam.
Well... that was... intense. This is one of the three games I’ve played this year that left an INDELIBLE impression and holds a special place in my heart.
I am writing to you from inside the walls. Please please please: was the naming of the Tulpar intentional to stage the ruthless, hopeless samsara at play? I have been rotating concepts in my head for several nights straight now
Hey! I left a theory about the ship's name in a pinned comment under my video: https://youtu.be/e6LjLlJOHLc
I also left this theory here if you scroll down a bit.
Indeed, and while I agree that likely this is the entirety of the reason for the choice, what with the ship being a "pony" "flying" through space and whatnot. But I can't really let go of the connection to just Tulpa, in the traditional Tibetan Buddhist sense.
y it not for free TT
because people need to make money lolz
The more I play this game, the more I’m consumed by the darkness and horror of everything happening, and the realization that we’re playing as a dangerously insane psychopath.
do we know if there is going to be a release for MacOS ?
asking what every mac user is asking
you don't understand how much I need to play this game !!! D: IT LOOKS SO COOL AAAAAA
thank you for everything u put in this game: really made us think the night we played it. also fuck jimmy
ughhhhhhhhh, i wanna play this SO BAD because its out of my comfort zone and i wanna expand my tastes in horror games but its only for windows and it costs money (which isnt the problem if i had a credit card i would SO buy this). my parents are the type that if they see a little bit of blood in a game (one time i wasnt allowed to get a game because the character in the trailer had a forehead cut. FOREHEAD.) theyre also religous Roman Catholics and i dont know what they'd think of this. i once told my mom that i wanted to get a septum piercing someday or maybe a tattoo and she started comparing peircings to devil worship and disobeying god's will. i mean, shes okay with me being lesbian so thats good. if this was a game from a massive company, i'd just pirate it, but since this is an indie game and was made by EXTREMELY talented people/person, i feel like they should recieve compensation. i NEVER pirate indie games since theres an intense amout of dedication and work and effort put into this by often a team of small people or even just one person, that money is deserved and will actually benefit them. pirating from a large game company doesnt even make a difference to them. i hope i can buy it someday
are... you okay?
yeah, im fine, just strict religious parents :/
alright.. that sucks. stay safe. and ITCH.IO comment section isn't really the place to vent. but i get it
yeah, sorry, i just kinda got carried away in trying to explain myself, srry
Oh, I remember those times. Many years ago, my mom caught me playing Postal 2, and she caused such a scene that I thought I wouldn't make it out alive! Hang in there, buddy, we're with you!
Mouthwashing works on Linux via Valve’s own Proton engine 100%, and on Mac OS via CrossOver or kegworks emulation according to reddit users, so hopefully you’ll get enough freedom soon to get the game no matter what your OS is!
Super great indie game my dude!!! I'm very impressed! Hope to see a a
lot more from you in the future! Here's something inrtesting about Pony Express space freighter "Tulpar"
Tulpar is a legendary winged or celestial horse in Turkic mythology, akin to the Greek Pegasus. The wings of Tulpar were not necessarily for flight but symbolized its unparalleled speed. This mythical horse has been immortalized in various cultural symbols.
Tulpar = Horse = Pony Express
a GOG release would be great too!
This game holds a special place in my heart, a magnificent, chilling, and terrifying story of human madness.
Please allow us to buy the game here rather then only on steam, I'd much rather my money contribute to you and itch.io then a company that doesn't allow me to truly own games I bought
Is there a way to still play the demo?
its not letting me download, is this game not free?
No, you have to get it on steam
CURLY...,.,.,.,. :(
super excited to play this game but i know it only came out just a bit ago so i thought i should ask here: are there any jumpscares, chase sequences, etc? im ok with disturbing and graphic imagery but dont do super well with that sort of time-based thing
the beginning is a bit chase feeling but from i remember nothing jumpscared or pure chase sequences
good to know, thank you!
Thank you for asking this question!! I am in the same boat, I am super interested in this type of horror but if a game makes me run from a monster i wont be able to finish it xDD
ok im back after playing!! first off that was incredible and im so glad i played it and second off i have some more information for the rest of us scaredy-cats. so there are three somewhat stressful maze sequences where you have to avoid an enemy, but all have unlimited time and i believe there's no penalty for being caught besides being taken to the beginning. id say the first is probably the scariest but i was able to get through it once i took my time and slowed down. the final one i just brute-forced ran through and that seemed to work. best of luck to everyone else playing for the first time and if you need a more detailed explanation just ask, im dogboyboyshorts on tumblr
Mind-bending and unsettling 10/10
Give it a shot if you're into physiological horror games & experiences
You can also watch my playthrough on Mouthwashing here:
why is there so much youtube spam in here
People seemingly spam their youtube videos in the comment sections of horror games hoping someone will click and subscribe to them, but most of the other people posting comments are doing the same thing. I hope most of them are doing it for the love of the craft and not because they think they can be the next Markaplier, because Lets Plays aren't popular anymore.
I know you probably heard this a million time but... Great Game, Thanks for the nice experience
5 stars
I like it a lot really scary horror game and a big fan on the old retro style :)
Had an absolute blast recording and playing this game cant wait to see more from this developer !
Absolutely incredible game. Just watched a playthrough and wanted to come on here and show some support. The writing and storytelling is some of the strongest I have seen in a while. I wish you all much success on your future projects and am so excited to see what you continue to make!!!
is this the full game, or is it like a demo since its free?
I kinda want to buy the game to support the creator anyways, their previous game was too good and i have high hopes
im smiling and confused, the best kind😂
